Our February membership meeting is CANCELLED, due to weather!

Welcome to the website of KPMS, a non-profit organization of folks interested in the fascinating world of mycology! Our purpose is to study, collect and identify fungi. We strive to educate our members and our local community in proper fungi identification. Proper identification is the key in promoting safe and healthy gathering and consumption of fungi.

Our membership consists of mushroom enthusiasts from in and around the Kitsap Peninsula. If you are interested in mushrooms, this is the organization for you. Your level of knowledge in the mycological field need not be great to join. Our membership includes mushroom hunters, mushroom growers, chefs, photographers, amateur and professional mycologists. A fascination of the fungi kingdom is our only requirement!

Please explore our website where you will find details regarding meetings, forays, membership and FAQ answers. We hope that if you find our organization interesting you will come visit our group of "fungis" at a meeting. Till then, happy hunting!

Note: we are an all-volunteer organization, and can not come to your place to ID mushrooms. It is also not recommended to ID mushrooms by description or photo. We may be able to ID mushroom samples at our meetings, and always at our annual show.
